This post by Will Hinton begins unpacking the issues through a personal story brought to our attention by Innocence Atlanta. In it he invites folks in Atlanta to attend a memorial service for a girl who puts a face and story on the issue of sex trafficking in our home town:

Sex Trafficking in January

this month we're going to begin orbiting around a large issue of human
trafficking and atlanta's particular place in the sex trafficking
industry. Depending on the discussion, this will be the first step in a longer process of educating ourselves about the issues and joining those already busy at work in this area.
many of us are informed about various parts of this. melvin and troy
thought we would use two articles as a way in. the first is "hidden in plain view," an
executive summary of report issues for the mayors office in dec 2005
about the homeless girls who ware then abducted and forced into
prostitution here in atlanta. The second is an article from a friend
of emergent to start the conversation that asks how systemic injustice
contributes to poverty and its issues including homelessness.
we also suggest you review the following sources:
the georgia innocence project
a future not a past
stand up for kids
not for sale campaign
let's meet at tilt in castleberry hills to discuss how the kingdom of God is challenging us to make a difference in the lives of children being sexually exploited in atlanta. We will meet from 8-10pm, and yes it is tomorrow, Jan 29th.
