Just a reminder we meet tonight from 8-10 in Duluth (see earlier post), so townies need to go ahead and get on their bikes right now...
Jason Malek has offered the following 2 questions to get us started:
Following are two questions to kick off conversation tomorrow night. The
first is Rowan Williams' from the cover flap (why tinker with a good
question?), and the other, more practical question is one Tim Keel posed to
Dr. Volf at the conversation.
1. In our increasingly graceless culture, where can we find the motivation
to give? And how do we learn to forgive when forgiving seems
counterintuitive or even futile?
2. How does gift giving function in a wealthy culture / in a wealthy church?
How does it act as a judgment on us, and what does it mean for churches to
be generous as communities?

Two months ago Emergent met with Miraslov Volf at Yale for a theological discussion. some members of the cohort were there and we would like to host a conversation in Duluth about some of Volf's work. We will meet at Higher Grounds in Duluth, on Medlock Bridge ( GA-141).
To prepare for this you need to get ahold of the book Free of Charge and/or listen to the pod casts from the Emergent Village blog. We will send out three specific discussion points next week and look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night, April 25
