Greetings!
The March Cohort is coming up quickly. This coming Tuesday (March 31) at Tilt Coffee house we will be meeting. The topic is "The Missing Female Voice" We want to find out why the ladies seem to be missing from the Emergent Conversation. Also we want to talk about what other groups might be missing from the conversation, and why? Please bring along friends who haven't been part of the conversation but whom need to have their voices heard.
Sorry, but I don't have any links to intellectual (nerdy) articles discussing this topic for you to read before hand. If you know of anything that should be required reading for this event let me know.
Hope to see you there!!!

Ann, I'd suggest we have people read about privilege before coming to the discussion.
This: (http://www.case.edu/president/aaction/UnpackingTheKnapsack.pdf) is the quintessential article on white privilege.
This article is a list on male privilege, based on the previous list: (http://sap.mit.edu/content/pdf/male_privilege.pdf).
Hi!
If you haven't yet head about the Christianity21 conference, it's worth a look...it's not being marketed as a "women's conference", but it's a diverse-ish collection of emerging women's voices.

Hi - sorry to leave this comment here, but since I have no email address this to....
Worship @ the Welcome Table in Decatur is loosely classified as "emergent" and I think would be of interest to your members!

-----
Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur offers an alternative evening Eucharist called “Worship @ the Welcome Table” on the first Saturday of the month at 6 p.m.
This month, on the eve of Holy Week, we offer a contemplative, interactive experience of the Stations of the Cross. For this Eucharist, instead of the liturgy of the Word, we will have a period of time to explore an abbreviated Stations of the Cross, each with an interactive element – lectio divina, meditative writing/reflecting, individual prayer and meditation, votive prayer candles, and even an outreach project. As parishioners explore these stations at their own pace, musicians will provide live Taize music to accompany the experience. We will conclude with a Eucharist encircling the altar (the “Welcome Table”) in the middle of the parish hall. We hope this will be a powerful and moving way to begin your Holy Week experience.
