Back in the Saddle

So after a long hiatus we are getting back into the swing of things starting next Monday, September 26th, from 8-10pm at the the Brickstore Pub, Decatur.
Many new things will happen this year including migrating our locations so that various folks from regions around the city can "host" the evening. We will be discussing things such as redemption through the arts, missional theology, and ethics for city dwellers. We will try to use articles and CDs and performances as discussion points and have artisans, pastors, counselors, and professors provide us with teaching to work through. Also this year we will add to our group folks like Jake Myers (whom you need to meet) who have been involved in emergent cohorts in other parts of the US.
We will settle on other meeting times (a routine night a month) at this monday's gathering. If you are unable to attend this week please reply to the blog with a note of what times of the week are best for you.

my name is josh. i've been involved in the conversation for a couple of years now but have never hooked up with a cohort. i'll be there and look forward to meeting everyone. and i too have sufjan playing nonstop these days.
I've been listening to Sufjan a lot also! My name is Darrell, and I'm interested in the conversation and McLaren's books but I don't know where I fit in with the Emergent movement theologically (I'm heterodox at best). I have an ongoing class on Mondays till 9, but maybe I could come at the very end if you guys will be at the pub till 10 pm.

I'd love to join, but we've got a commitmnt on monday nights already. That's the only night of the week that doesn't work tho, so once you settle, if it's not monday, I'm in!

Thanks for continuing to help us connect! I will not be able to be with you on Monday evening, but I certainly remain interested, and want to be included in the information loop. My schedule is somewhat unpredictable, so one time is not necessarily better than another.
Sorry I wasn't able to make it this past Monday. My class went long and I just couldn't make it by ten.
I didn't make it either,
I hope next time I can. School is really overwhelming to me right now, but I should get in the routine soon.

I'm getting married in 11 days so my last 2 weeks have been crazy. Then I have the wedding. Then the honeymoon. And then I'm there. Just in time for Christmas.
